Why you need a password generator
Human-made passwords follow patterns: a word, a capital letter at the start, a number and an exclamation mark at the end. Password-cracking tools try those patterns first, which is why “Summer2024!” falls in seconds even though it looks complex.
A generator removes the human from the process. Every character is chosen at random from the full set you allow, so there is no pattern to exploit and the only way to break the password is to try every possibility.
Choosing the right settings
Length matters most. Each extra random character multiplies the number of possible passwords, so going from 12 to 16 characters makes a password tens of millions of times harder to guess.
Everyday accounts: 16 characters with all four character types.
Email, banking and work accounts: 20 characters or more.
Wi-Fi keys and passwords you type by hand: turn on “Exclude look-alikes”.
Sites with strict rules: edit the symbol set or add rejected characters to “Exclude characters”.
Store it, don't memorise it
A strong random password is not meant to be remembered. Save it in a password manager such as Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePassXC or the one built into your browser, and let it fill the password in for you.
Keep one strong passphrase in your head for the password manager itself, and turn on two-factor authentication wherever it is offered.

Pick the right generator for the job
Use a unique secret for every account and store it in a reputable password manager.
Yes. It is completely free, with no account, no limits and no premium tier.
Are passwords sent to a server?
No. Passwords are created by JavaScript running in your browser and are never transmitted, logged or stored by us.
How long should my password be?
Use at least 16 random characters for everyday accounts and 20 or more for important ones. Longer is always stronger.
Why does a site reject my generated password?
Some sites limit length or disallow certain symbols. Shorten the length, edit the symbol set, or add the rejected characters to “Exclude characters”, then generate again.
Can I generate many passwords at once?
Yes. Use “Generate 10” to create a batch you can copy individually or download as a text file.
Does the generator keep a history?
The history list only lives in the open browser tab. It is cleared when you close or reload the page and is never saved to disk or sent anywhere.
Ready for a password you can trust?
It takes one click, and it never leaves your browser.
